A word from the photographer: What a perfect summer day in the Berkshires! James & Amanda live in New Orleans and planned a destination wedding at Gedney Farm, right in the heart of the Berkshires.Read More
Mary & Todd were married at Gedney Farm. It rained, so the ceremony was inside, but a Gedney Farm wedding is beautiful rain or shine! They didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, so we snuck a few portraits in between cocktails and dinner. The rain had stopped, and we were able to do them outside.Read More
Elana & Ben were married at The Mount in the Berkshires. My heart is still overflowing with gratitude and joy. I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to have been a part of Elana & Ben’s wedding and to have had the chance to get to know them as a couple. In spite of a heavy rain that presented some challenges that were unexpected, the unstoppable forces of love, kindness, family and teamwork made the wedding sweet and beautiful. The quote of the day was “Man makes plans and God laughs.” Everyone just smiled and rolled with it. Plus, they say that rain on your wedding day is good luck. =)Read More
Gabrielle and Dana were married on May 14th, with a ceremony and reception at Santarella, also known as the Tyringham Gingerbread House, this place is amazing in so many ways. It was a gorgeous outdoor ceremony at this fun and whimsical venue. The forecast had called for rain, but instead, the sun broke through the clouds to light up the ceremony by the pond. It did end up raining once, but guests were safely in the tent enjoying dinner at the time.Read More
Kathy & Rusty were married at The Mount in the Berkshires, one of my all-time favorite wedding venues. Some of her wedding vendors are part of the Berkshire Wedding Collective, a wonderful team of wedding professionals I’m a member of in the Berkshires, led by Tara Consolati. All the design and creative for the wedding was by the bride herself and Tara acted as month-of coordinator. Beautiful flowers were created by Crocus Hale.Read More
Alyce & Chris, along with their exciting careers - are avid antique collectors and added many eclectic details - a unique assortment of vintage vases, a vintage Rolls-Royce, a garnet ring of her great grandmother’s, photographs of wedding's past from both sides of the families, antique lace from generations & homemade pies - just a few elements that added warmth and charm to their gorgeous Berkshires wedding.Read More
This was the kind of wedding that I love the most – where the most important part of the day is the marriage. And everyone there shows their love, support and friendship around that. It just touched me over and over again how much love there was amongst Hannah & Jason’s family and friends.Read More
This wedding truly filled my spirit and my heart. Cancer is a disease no one can prepare themselves for, whether you are the patient or the person who loves the patient. Michelle is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, and she is so incredibly strong and vibrant. The love that she and Peter share is so evident, and every moment of their wedding day radiated with warmth!Read More
A word from the bride: Austin and I met at work three years ago. Austin is a chef and I am the event planner for Savory Harvest Catering. I would say it was love at first site for both parties, but it took some push from both sides. I thought Austin was younger than he was and he didn't think I was available. We started dating about six months after meeting and got engaged about nine months after that. We were engaged about a year and a half before getting married, so we took some time to plan and make sure our day was perfect. You could say it was a whirlwind romance!Read More
We couldn't have planned a more perfect day to get married. Life is beautifully unpredictable, so we were blessed by getting married in Narnia. We got two feet of snow on our day, which provided the perfect backdrop for vows and photos.Read More
A note from Tara: When Jocelyn sent me this beautiful winter wedding, the first thing I noticed was that not only did this couple choose the Red Lion Inn as their getting-ready location, but that the bride was in my absolute FAVORITE suite--the Firehouse!!! So instantly, I knew this was going to be a good one! Then, as I scrolled through all the images that graced my inbox, I was blown away by many of the classic, black and white, wintry images that Jocelyn captured. Timeless and elegant, yet modern and fun. I just LOVE this winter wedding in the Berkshires by Lovebird Studio!Read More
Hewmun and her husband John live in Boston but tied the knot at their gorgeous summer retreat on a blueberry farm tucked away in the Berkshires. The rustic setting couldn’t have been more perfect for a bride who described her personal style as “unconventional, with a touch of glamour.” (I’m all about that!)Read More
A word from Christopher: Christine & Will had their wedding at Stonover Farm, which is a pretty exclusive place to get married, because they can only do a handful of weddings per year. It was my first time photographing a wedding at Stonover Farm and it is definitely one of the best barns in the Berkshires.Read More
John Seakwood's photojournalistic approach to weddings always produces beautiful images, capturing not only the details of the event, but the emotions of all who were in attendance. And when the images have been edited and presented to the newly married couple, he considers his work done, not pushing to get every event published. In fact, I wouldn't have even known about this gorgeous wedding if I hadn't stumbled across The Mount's blog and reached out to him! Take a look at the images of this sweet couple, and fall in love with John Seakwood Photography!Read More
It's hard to believe that we're closing out another year! 2014 was one that brought some exciting new changes to my life, my business and the wedding industry in the Berkshires! With Christmas just behind us, New Year's just around the corner (and the kids home from school for the entire holiday season!!), I've been having a hard time getting motivated to post another blog! But then I remembered a fun, sparkly New Year's Eve wedding that Tricia McCormack photographed at Cranwell, and knew there was no better day than today to put this one out into cyberspace!
Most of the weddings we post on here reflect warmer temperatures and rolling green hills, but honestly, I don't think there is anything more magical than a winter wedding in the Berkshires. Take a look at Dana and David's beautiful snowy wedding, and I'll bet you'll agree!Read More
I swear the love that Mike + Miccah have together is actually tangible, I’m pretty sure you could bottle it and sell it if you wanted to. When they embrace or look to each other, to them the rest of the world disappears and for us looking in you can’t help but feel happy too. Cheers to Mike + Miccah! -Jocelyn // It’s all about the happy!Read More
What really stood out to me at Joe & Darius’s wedding was their warmth, care for their family and guests and deep love for each other. They had a beautiful, full weekend together – starting off at a rehearsal dinner at the Norman Rockwell Museum, and ending with a brunch at their private home. Really, every wedding I photograph has this caring and warmth, but Joe & Darius’s wedding stood out because I was there to witness three full days of their joy and love.Read More
Rain drops softly bounced off the shoulder of John's jacket as he read from the sheet of paper with smudged vows. Pam and John never lost eye contact. I kept my camera focused on Pam as she brushed a tear away from her eyes. The rain came down a little harder now but they didn't notice and neither did their guests. This was their moment and we were all lost in it. Tears and then laughter escaped from the crowd who gathered to watch them marry in front of the Hancock Shaker Village Barn under the arbor that John had built.
It occured to me as I was capturing their ceremony, that rain is something that many wedding couples fear on their day and yet, here we were and this was one of the most romantic and moving ceremonies I had yet experienced.
Pam & John - your wedding filled me with so much joy. I am grateful you contacted me to capture your engagement session at a family home that holds wonderful memories and then to be there on your perfect wedding day highlighted here.
