Chelsea and her best friend had been at a Halloween party a few weeks prior to that night, and after that party, they had not been able to stop talking about a guy who had come to the party dressed as a chicken and was the LIFE of the party. Then, one night, they were in a bar in Boston when her best friend nearly tackled her out of her excitement to announce, “The Chicken is here!!!”Read More
Elana & Ben were married at The Mount in the Berkshires. My heart is still overflowing with gratitude and joy. I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to have been a part of Elana & Ben’s wedding and to have had the chance to get to know them as a couple. In spite of a heavy rain that presented some challenges that were unexpected, the unstoppable forces of love, kindness, family and teamwork made the wedding sweet and beautiful. The quote of the day was “Man makes plans and God laughs.” Everyone just smiled and rolled with it. Plus, they say that rain on your wedding day is good luck. =)Read More
Kathleen and Jim were married on June 4th, a gorgeous day with blue skies as far as you could see. The entire celebration was held at Cranwell Resort & Spa in Lenox, MA. Lisa, my second shooter and I split up to take pictures of Kathleen and Jim getting ready. Both Lisa and I agreed that the couple were beaming with anticipation separately, they COULD NOT wait to see each other for the first time when Kathleen would walk down the staircase of the Cranwell terrace towards Jim.Read More
Katie Ann & Christopher made me feel like I was capturing royality! I am not aware that Katie Ann nor Chris have any direct lineage to queens or kings but their wedding had such an elegance and was so rich in tradition that I felt as though I was with an Irish Princess and Prince among the backdrop of their castle.Read More
Cassie & Dan made engagement photos with me in the Meatpacking District in Manhattan. They are fun together and like to make each other laugh. Their wedding had that same quality – their friends and family loved to laugh, too. Cassie & Dan’s wedding was my first time photographing at Cranwell in the Berkshires. The grounds are so pretty, and the inside of the mansion has beautiful detail. At this point I think I’ve photographed a wedding at every major Berkshire venue!Read More
There is so much personality in this wedding, like Ashley's obsession for cows and how she incorporated that throughout the wedding in socks for the guys, cow placecard holders and cow bells at every table. Not to mention that a friend actually made a life size cow for her out of paper mache and they put it on the lawn at Cranwell.Read More
Before November there was no circumstance I could have imagined that would cause me to miss one of my couples' special day. As a wedding photographer we bind ourselves to the dates our brides and grooms reserve us for, well in advance. I personally believe they've made such an important choice when selecting their photographer and it's a commitment I take very seriously.Read More
It's hard to believe that we're closing out another year! 2014 was one that brought some exciting new changes to my life, my business and the wedding industry in the Berkshires! With Christmas just behind us, New Year's just around the corner (and the kids home from school for the entire holiday season!!), I've been having a hard time getting motivated to post another blog! But then I remembered a fun, sparkly New Year's Eve wedding that Tricia McCormack photographed at Cranwell, and knew there was no better day than today to put this one out into cyberspace!
Most of the weddings we post on here reflect warmer temperatures and rolling green hills, but honestly, I don't think there is anything more magical than a winter wedding in the Berkshires. Take a look at Dana and David's beautiful snowy wedding, and I'll bet you'll agree!Read More
To Amanda and Frank their alma matter holds more than the typical sentiment, it's also the place where they met their freshman year and fell in love. Williams College holds amazing memories of times together and with friends who were now the same people to stand beside them as they exchanged their vows to take care of each other always at the Thompson Memorial Chapel.Read More
From Liz: Maria came to me after seeing my work on the Berkshire Wedding Collective site, and promptly grabbed my last available June Saturday. She works in theater, and has the engaging personality to match – and she loves her makeup bold and lashes long! I used a Sephora cream lip stain in a vibrant fuchsia shade to create a long-lasting bright lip, and black eyeliner and shimmery champagne on the lids to set off her incredible blue eyes.Read More
Mark & Jonathan's ceremony was so touching, it was magical and the soft rain that was falling as their guests sat on the Cranwell terrace made it even more magical. Their Rabbi's words were so personal and unforgettable. He said " You never thought this kind of happiness was possible. Today the stars must be aligned and they are. Today the sun and moon are equal in the sky. You fell in love in so many ways, but in particular with the way you made each other feel whole. You cannot imagine being who you are without the man that stands beside you now. You are two halfs of the same person and together you are as one."Read More
Last weekend signified the kickoff to the busy 2014 wedding season and no better to begin with such a wonderful couple. Kaitlyn & Billy were married on April 26 with a ceremony at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lee, MA followed by a reception at the Berkshire Hills Country Club.
When checking the weather prior to the wedding, clouds with rain drops were displayed hour after hour. I had multiple plan B scenarios lined up, after all, a photographer has to be ready for the unexpected! I wouldn't have imagined that, when those church doors opened after Kaitlyn & Billy walked down the aisle, the sky was a brilliant blue and the sun shown down on them as they walked out of the church. You could even hear the guests gasp in surprise, it truly seemed like a blessing.
Before the ceremony, I spent some time with Kaitlyn as she and her bridal party got ready at Cranwell Resort. Billy and his groomsmen were there as well, but we kept the couple apart until Kaitlyn actually went down the aisle at St. Marys with her dad. You may remember from their engagement session that this was the same church that Kaitlyn's mom and dad were married in. You could see both couples' love reflected in everyone present.
After the ceremony, I hopped on the party bus with the bride & groom and their bridal party and headed back to Cranwell for pictures. It was the perfect setting for formals and the group pictures. The Berkshire mountains make for the perfect background, no matter what season it is!
Next we were off to the reception at Berkshire Hills Country Club. The Club was transformed with all the beautiful details provided by Kaitlyn and Billy. Knowing that Kaitlyn owns her own organic natural skin care line, Zen Society, I knew she has an amazing eye for classic, fresh details but I was blow away by how amazing everything looked.
The party started in earnest when the couple arrived. You could feel the strong connection between all of their close friends and family. The wedding party hit the perfect mix between having tons of fun and honoring the bride & groom with their memories and love.
Thank you Kaitlyn & Billy for allowing me to share in your special day. I loved every minute of it, and I am so pleased to share these highlights with you from the day.
Special thanks to JaclynL Photography and Lisa Goudey for shooting along side me!
There's so much to love about Heather & Mike. So to be part of a day as lovely as theirs was very special. I felt like I was seeing old friends after our fun engagement session in NYC earlier in the summer and now I had the chance to meet all the friends and family that think the world of them. Their wedding was held in the Berkshires, in the gardens of Chesterwood in Stockbridge, MA. The day, the details, the location, the people...simply stunning!! Congratulations to you both, Mr. & Mrs. Gallerstein!
Sporadic rain showers couldn’t put a damper on the sheer joy of this beautiful May ceremony in the Berkshires! I did makeup for bride Lizzie as well as her mom, grandmom, mother in law, and 3 bridesmaids – everyone got a unique look tailored to their features (including lots of lush lashes). Lizzie’s big brown eyes looked especially striking with dark liner and warm peachy tones, a look that guaranteed her eyes would stand out even behind the veil. I’m so delighted to be able to share photos AND video from her gorgeous wedding!
