A word from the photographer: What a perfect summer day in the Berkshires! James & Amanda live in New Orleans and planned a destination wedding at Gedney Farm, right in the heart of the Berkshires.

A word from the bride: Our wedding day at Gedney Farm was absolutely perfect. After months of planning it was so exciting to finally be there. The weather and the farm were stunning. The leaves had just begun to change and fall and the sun was shining the whole weekend. We spent the day getting ready and laughing while we waited for guests to arrive.

The guests were greeted in the courtyard with cider and yard games. Once it was time the guests were invited to start the walk up the hill to the knoll. The ceremony was up on the top of a hill at the base of a beautiful cherry tree. Once the guests were seated, the bridal party started the walk up. To save the feet and dress of the bride, staff at Gedney graciously offered a golf cart to get us most of the way up.

As we all began to proceed to the ceremony site the music from the Rosamund Trio carried over to us. After a few expected hiccups from the many little flower girls and ring bearers, we all made it!

The weather was unseasonably warm and the sun was shining. While the temperature felt like summer the strong breeze blowing leaves around us during the ceremony reminded us all that it was in fact fall! The ceremony was perfect and I know we will remember it fondly for the rest of out lives. The chance to share our love and marriage with all those who we love was really like nothing else.

After the ceremony, the guests returned to the farm for cocktail hour. The huge stone Argentine grill was fired up and ready to go! The bridal party and family stayed up on the knoll for a few quick pics. The staff at Gedney were quick to make sure we had some drinks ready to get the party started! After lots of laughing and picture taking we all made our way down to the farm. We were able to get an awesome group shot of the whole wedding and then everyone headed up for dinner! We were announced and had our first dance!

In the midst of all the excitement we started to catch glimpses of all the incredible flowers and decorations. The food was incredible and all the speeches were heartwarming! After dinner the dancing began! The DJ was incredible and a little out of hand at times. When guests needed a break from dancing they could pop downstairs for some fun in the photo booth. As our guests left for the night they could grab a late night snack of some popcorn! All in all the day was everything we hoped for!
