As a photographer and artist, Jaclyn strives to capture each wedding through a narrative lens focusing on the essence, the true meaning of the moment, enhanced by her artistic aesthetics. This approach creates images that are timeless, honest and composed with style.

Tara: Tell me how you first got involved with your business.

Jaclyn: I was inspired to become a wedding photographer the year I got married. I loved our photographer! He was so wonderful through out the whole process. He was a real inspiration and I wanted to be able to deliver his experience to my clients. 

Tara: What is the most surprising thing you’ve had happen to you on the job?

Jaclyn: Gosh I can't think of anything at the moment.  

Tara: What is your ideal Friday night?

Jaclyn: Staying in making popcorn and watching a scary movie! 

Tara: What is something you like to do during your free time?

Jaclyn: In my free time I love to cook!  

Tara: When you travel, what do you like to do (adventure, relaxation, food, etc.)? 

Jaclyn: When I travel I love taking photos. It really pushes me as an artist and it helps me see the world in a different way. When I'm not taking photos I'm hitting up the local restaurants and cafes trying all the wonderful food while people watching!

Tara: What is the last book you read?

Jaclyn: The last book I read James Patterson's Honeymoon. I love crime novels and James Patterson is a favorite. 

Tara: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Jaclyn: "It is what it is". This really allowed me to let go and understand that I can't control some things. Take life as it comes at you make decisions based on what's presented to you.

Tara: Which movie genre do you prefer?

Jaclyn: If you were to look through my movie collection I would say I love thrillers and action movies. 

Tara: What is the last movie you saw in the theaters?

Jaclyn: The last movie I saw in theaters was Jurassic Park 3D. I'm very much looking forward to the new Jurassic Park which will be hitting theaters in June!  

Tara: Which music genre do you prefer?

Jaclyn: I have a very eclectic taste in music. I love all kinds from Classic Rock, to BlueGrass to Classical. The music I listen to most is Trance, specifically Armin Van Burren. 

Tara: Your idea of adventure is:

Jaclyn: My idea of an adventure is being spontaneous. Having no plans, just getting up and going. I have a dream one day to buy an old VW bus and live out of it for a few months while I explore America. It would make for a really great photo project! 

Tara: How do you like your steak cooked?

Jaclyn: I like my steak cooked Medium - a little pink in the middle so you still get the flavors from the juice. 

Tara: What are three life memories you recall most frequently and why?

Jaclyn: 1. I recall my wedding day - Being in the wedding industry and attending  hundreds of weddings always leads to me think of my wedding day! 2. I often think of the summers I used to have at my house when I was a kid. The radio would be blaring classic rock or oldies, while we all sat on the deck and played in our pool. Music usually triggers this memory and it's a reminder of carefree summers.

Tara: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you want with you?

Jaclyn: If I were stranded on a desert island I would want my camera, a huge comforter (I'm always cold), and bug spray.  

Tara: Tell me something that most people don’t know about you.

Jaclyn: I play the trumpet!

Tara: What is one thing you'll do this year to step outside your comfort zone?

Jaclyn: I'm planning on learning the art of videography. Just for myself! It will be fun to see how my knowledge of photography and my eye will be translated into video!
