Traveling down the winding roads of the Berkshires in Massachusetts, one can clearly understand why brides harbor lifelong dreams of a wedding in one of America’s most breathtaking corners of the continent.
Today we're really excited to introduce you to Christine Adams, owner of Badger's Flowers! Christine joined our group just a few months ago, and has been actively reaching out to get to know other members. When I first met her at a coffee shop in Lenox, I instantly felt at ease with her...none of that "getting to know each other" stuff! She was so nice and easy to talk to...plus she had the cutest Golden Retriever patiently awaiting her full attention!
My work has been described among my peers & clients as: crisp, bright, clean, happy & inspired by the love and emotion of my subjects. From the very beginning, I have strived to offer a true blend of traditional & journalist styles for all of clients. This ensures that the full scope of their wedding day story is told after the fact.
After several months of some back-and-forth emails, I'm so happy to announce that The Good Beginning is now our first member in the Gift Registry category! Also, that little village in Zambia--Grassroots Heroes International--has now been added to TGB's lineup of worthy causes! And lastly, the Berkshire Wedding Collective has decided to give back as well, donating a portion of our proceeds to help support the tiny Zambian village called Grippis Farm!
Tricia McCormack Photography specializes in wedding throughout the Berkshires and beyond. As someone who returned to live in Lenox after living and working in NYC and Boston, Tricia has a special appreciation for the elegance, charm and beauty of the Berkshires.

Both Alyce & Chris have a love for nostalgia, a fondness and curiosity for America’s yesteryear, collecting and propagating its bygone objects. The unique history and vintage feel of The Great Barrington Fair Ground seemed perfect for this creative and eclectic couple.
We had a blast taking lovely pictures outdoors while these two told me about their hopes and dreams to have a farm of their own—they are currently prepping land to plant 800 apple trees! They brought along their adorable daughter Analise, who was born in March. She was the perfect baby and I love that she got in some of the pictures as well.
As you probably know by now, I am seriously addicted to weddings! I could look at Pinterest all day long, or surf my favorite wedding blogs on the web to soak up all kinds of gorgeousness--from vibrant florals, to decadent dessert stations, to beautiful table designs and more! So when Grace, from The Mount, told me about this Sweet Monday Photography styled shoot that happened at one of my favorite Berkshires wedding venues, I just knew it had to be featured somehow on one of my blogs! And here it is! But be forewarned...staring at these images for too long will make you want to design your wedding all over again! Enjoy!
A word from Tricia: Driving out to Cummington, MA to meet Annie and Gil there was a thick fog from melting snow and a light rain that was falling. I was worried about the weather for this engagement shoot but Annie assured me that she and Gil were up for anything. Since Annie is in her second year of law school in Vermont and Gil is a busy professional in the Boston area, they knew they had to seize the moment rain or shine.
Mass Moca is almost as awesome as these two! This whimsical, playful, inspirational space was beyond the perfect fit for an equally whimsical, playful, inspirational couple. So excited for more adorableness in June at the wedding! -Jocelyn Vassos // It’s all about the happy!
When Allie and Kevin decided to book the Berkshire Botanical Garden as the site of their Spring engagement session, they envisioned a little less snow and a few more green buds in the background... But Mother Nature had a different scene in mind, and we think this Berkshires e-sesh turned out just fine! :)
Maybe it's because we're all ready for Spring, or maybe it's because this couple is just too dang cute, but either way, I just knew this Berkshires engagement session by Christopher Duggan had to be shared today! Alex and Justin are two yoga instructors who met and fell in love at Jacob's Pillow, where they both worked in 2013. So when they contacted Christopher about shooting their engagement pics at Kripalu, it was like a match made in Heaven! Check out these fun images, and be sure to hop on over to this post to see their sweet Berkshires wedding at the Dream Away Lodge!
The Red Lion Inn, in partnership with Berkshire Farm & Table and Find.Eat.Drink, produced a series of engaging contemporary videos aimed at the food tourism market to bring attention to the modern-day farm-to-table movement taking place in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. On March 13, the inn released a four-minute film entitled ‘The New Berkshires Food Scene: The Red Lion Inn-sider’s Guide’ which features executive chef Brian Alberg and visits to many of the best new food stops within a 20-minute drive of the inn.
A word from Tricia: I met Shawn and Mallory just after Thanksgiving for their engagement session at Kennedy Park in Lenox, MA. The couple currently lives in Denver, CO but was in town to spend the holiday with Mallory's parents. They brought Chester, their new puppy, with them to the session, which I loved!
I don't know about all of you, but there's just something about the holidays that make me want to DIY something. Well, that's not exactly true, I guess. I like to work on creative projects pretty much all year long--for weddings, birthday parties, home decor ideas, styled shoots... Whatever the season, when I'm feeling unmotivated, it's usually worth a trip to Michael's or Lowes to find some fun, hands-on projects!
There are days when I find myself scouring the pages of Pinterest, or getting lost in some fabulous wedding blog spending countless hours enjoying gorgeous images from styled shoots. There's just something so liberating about being a part of a shoot, and being able to design something beautiful that comes from your own imagination...not from the vision of a bride, groom or mother (who's living vicariously through her engaged child!)!
Okay guys, listen up! The most popular proposal season is now upon us (Thanksgiving through New Year's Day!), and if you're about to pop the question, you'd better make sure you do it right! Did you know that it has become increasingly popular to stage a grand proposal AND have it secretly captured by a professional photographer? IT'S TRUE! Just take a look at this cute couple, caught on camera by Tricia McCormack!
One of my very favorite things to do is play dress-up. But not dress-up like when we were kids, going through our mothers' closets and donning their long pearl necklaces. I love to take a room--or a venue, blank piece of paper, etc.--and accentuate it with beautiful pieces of furniture, accessories, flowers... I think this is why I love to design styled shoots so much. Every once in a while (actually, quite often), I'll get inspired by something--a piece of moulding, the color of the sky, a weathered doorknob--and suddenly, I'll have an idea for a photo shoot that brings a team of professionals together and produces perfectly "pin-able" pictures!
Legendary fashion designer, Oscar de la Renta, has died at the age of 82.
Whether you were in the market for some fabulous new "everyday" attire, some great shoes, or a show-stopping wedding gown (or pantsuit!), you knew that buying one of his designs was a sure hit and a true investment in yourself.
Many of you know by now that this summer had me not only running the new Berkshire Wedding Collective, but also planning our official launch party, held on Wednesday, August 13th. And since my philosophy is "go big or go home", I knew this needed to be a big deal...and it was! With over 100 people in attendance (which was no small feat, since the weather forecast was HORRIBLE!), our celebration was loads of fun--great food, great entertainment, great company--and found people lingering around until long after the music had stopped!
One of the advantages of organizing a group like the Berkshire Wedding Collective, is that I get to know some pretty talented people! And it always gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling when the members get to know each other and collaborate on various projects! Usually, these projects will include sponsoring events like the Berkshire Wedding Tour, or styled photo shoots; however, sometimes they involve something totally non-wedding-related, such as in this case, where Tricia McCormack was able to take some family portraits for Christopher Duggan! And let me tell you...family "sittings" just aren't what they used to be (thank goodness!). Gone are the days of paint-by-number backdrops in an Olan Mills studio! Tricia's shoots are always fun, relaxed, casual, candid and ALWAYS capture the true essence of her subjects! Take a look at this fun family session! I simply LOVE the way it turned out! (submitted by Christopher Duggan)
Having an outdoor event usually means seeing a row of portable restrooms...which most of us usually dread using, no matter how clean they may be! But at A1 Enterprises, they've raised the bar a bit to provide beautiful restroom trailers--as nice as the bathrooms in our homes--for our gorgeous outdoor weddings in the Berkshires.
I am beyond excited to bring you this fun interview with Sylvia Weinstock today! If you haven't seen one of her amazing cakes in person, I highly recommend it! The images we see in magazines and on television are amazing enough, but to see the detail of each flower petal and leaf up close is simply incredible.
Daisy Stone Studio is a brand new, long-time-coming venture by a girl who's been designing floral arrangements and organizing gorgeous events for years! When I met Susie Agrillo over coffee and tea at Dottie's in Pittsfield, I immediately sensed that she was quite possibly the nicest person I've ever met and knew that I had to have her on the Berkshire Wedding Collective! Read on to find out more about this sweet, talented gal!
It's no secret just how much I love working with all of my Berkshire Wedding Collective members, and Christopher Duggan is someone I got to know long before the launch of this group. It gives me great joy to post this interview, because I know how awesome Christopher is...he's interesting, super talented and absolutely ADORES his family. Always refreshing to see someone whose success is balanced both in and out of the studio!
To say that The Mount is a beautiful place to get married would be a huge understatement! With its spectacular structures and magnificent grounds, The Mount makes the perfect backdrop for any special occasion.
As most of you know, the Berkshire Wedding Collective is a completely new undertaking in the Berkshires...an unproven endeavor that is fueled by my mission to raise awareness of the Berkshires as a premier wedding destination and by the amazing support of this group of wedding professionals that believes in this mission. Because it is such a new concept, I am all the more grateful for the support of industry notables like Ceci Johnson (and Sylvia Weinstock, Lyndsey Hamilton and more!), and it gives me GREAT pleasure to get to know my members better through these fun interviews! So, without further adieu, let's get to know a little more about the face behind the fabulous Ceci New York!
We all know by now that the current trends (rustic-chic, roaring 20's, industrial-chic, etc.) have a pretty strong hold on wedding design. But I'm beginning to get a sense that in 2015, we may start seeing more retro/mid-century modern/Mad Men events taking place.
We're so excited to be adding the Officiant category to our website, for those of you aren't using a favorite-childhood priest or rabbi. And today we want to introduce you to Sharon Rose LaVerda, who has officiated hundreds of weddings in the Berkshire area.
